A big THANK YOU goes out to Becky Spratford, Berwyn PL, for her wonderful presenation on Reader’s Advisory on RASSL’s 12/8 meeting.

RASSL, Reference Association of South Suburban Libraries, a forum for reference librarians in the southern suburbs of Chicago, provides opportunities for increasing knowledge, sharing information, networking with colleagues, and supporting fellow librarians.

Among the group’s many activities are hosting speakers on various topics related to reference work, conducting field trips to area cultural and educational institutions and maintaining an online Community Organization Guide (COG).  RASSL meets on the first Thursday in October, February, and April and on the second Thursday in December and June at 9:15 a.m. at various member libraries.

Thursday, October 6, 2011  -  Orland Park PL  – Lisa Ruch presented an in-depth look at World Book Online.

Thursday, December 8, 2011 - South Holland PL – Becky Spratford, Berwyn PL, shared effective tools & techniques for Reader’s Advisory.

 Thursday, February 2, 2012 - Lansing PL – This 90 minute program will begin at 9:30!! Stephen Laue, U.S. Census Bureau, will explore how to access info from 2010′s U.S. Census.

Thursday, April 5, 2012 -  Field Trip: 90-120 min walking tour of  Baker & Taylor in Momence, IL

Thursday, June 14, 2012 - Frankfort PL
